Influx and Ferrari

Ferrari 430 Spider from influx magazine

Everyone with an insurance policy with Adrian Flux should by now have received their copy of influx, the Adrian Flux magazine. As we've mentioned before, we didn't want to just produce an ordinary, boring, corporate magazine that was full of puff pieces about us.

So instead we packed it full with really awesome pictures of some of our favourite cars and bikes, professionally produced articles that any enthusiast would like to read, as well as some of our customer's own cars with a story to tell.

The end result is, in our opinion, the best car magazine in the UK.

The latest issue is crammed with features on Surfers and their Surf Wagons, Drifting, Group B Rally cars and the Buell Lightning Super TT, amongst 64 pages of unadulterated motoring eye candy.

But the cover story is our test drive of the new Ferrari F430 F1 Spider.

We initially asked Ferrari if we could take a photo of their new beast of a cabrio. But when we rang them, they asked if we wouldn't prefer to take it for a test drive. So that's what happened.

Some lucky so and so (not me, sadly) got to take it this awe inspiring machine on a four day tour of some of the historic racing circuits of Europe - Reims, Le Mans, Spa - and a single page photo turned into a 6 page feature article and wraparound cover.

Ferrari obviously like it, anyway. We hope you do too.

The awesome Ferrari 430's engine is visible at all times, whether the top is up or down.

Coming to terms with a double tragedy.

You'll have noticed that things have been rather quiet on the blog recently.

On Sunday 11th March, two of our well loved colleagues, Paul Adams and Kathryn Dunne, lost their lives in a tragic road accident on their way to enjoy a well deserved holiday in the Caribbean.

Paul, known to all as PDA, was Underwriting Manager here at Flux, and will be familiar to readers as he made several appearances on this blog. Kathryn, a Supervisor in our Administration department, may also be familiar to regular visitors to our site or to shows - as one of the Flux Babes, she appeared in many of our promotional photos.

No words I could write on here could adequately express the acute sense of loss and grief felt by everyone who worked with them. I hope you'll understand why I've not felt able to post.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of both Paul and Kathryn at this difficult time.

Finally a guy driving badly...

After months of wanting a clip of a guy driving as badly as some of the women previously displaying their distinct lack of driving talent, I've finally got one.

This is why cars come with a handbrake - shame he was too dumb to use it...

It was all going so well, but just as I was about to post this, Gerry sent me this.

Now, just imagine you've had a really bad smash. For any sensible person, the priority would be, get out of the car and move to a safe distance, maybe call 999.

Not this lady...

forget the hair!
