Vive la France

Last Sunday, thousands of French car fans descended on the Rockingham Racing Circuit for the Adrian Flux French Car Show 2009. The Show was a big hit, with the great weather and the large array of activities and live action on offer. This included Track and Rally racing, trade stands, car clubs, live stunt teams, the F1 pit stop challenge and the Rockingham virtual racing game.

Attracting the largest amount of attention though was the Flux Babes. Although they were having their pictures taken for most of the day, they found time to collect for charity, drift with Opposite Lock and have the OTT Stunt team jump over them.

A good day was had by all except the people who’s cars got caked in brown dust from the rally circuit.

If you are interested in your French cars, then check out influx. This month influx has taken on a French theme, with some great articles on the monstrous Renaultsport Mégane R26R and one of the biggest fans of the iconic Citroën DS.

Although there isn’t very many pictures a the moment here are some of the places I found some:

French Car Show Videos

With only 38 days left until the Adrian Flux French Car Show 2008, at Rockingham on June 22nd, we’re working flat out to help make sure that this year’s show is the best yet.

For us that means taking an unprecedented number of Flux Babes, getting an even bigger and better Scalextric circuit, and sorting out free popcorn and candy floss, plus loads more besides.

So we thought now might be a good time to take a look back at last year’s show, so here, for your entertainment, are some video interviews we did at the 2007 show, including some of the owners whose cars were good enough for the Meguiars show car enclosure, as well as some of the club members, whose cars ranged from the sublime to the Tigger.

Can’t wait for the next one…

Trinity Lane Insurance just can’t compete with Blue Movie Star

No, it’s not Gerry’s usual reason for canceling an important underwriters’ meeting.

Trinity Lane, an underwriting company we deal with quite a lot, are, being stuffy insurance bigwigs, not exactly ‘down with the kids’, and don’t have a proper website yet, though I’m told they are getting one.

Unfortunately (and amusingly) if you do a web search for their name, the all-powerful Google brings back the Internet Movie Database profile of an.. ahem.. adult film star, who has appeared in such silver screen classics as “Love Thrust” and “Gushers 9″.

Trinity Lane (not the insurance company)

I managed to find a (clean) picture of the lady in question, who probably doesn’t realise she shares a name with an insurance company – and I have to say she’s not a patch on any of the Flux Babes. And because she doesn’t work here, she’s not eligible to become a Flux Babe, although she can, like you, vote for some Flux Babes here. And like you she could maybe even win a SatNav plus some VIP tickets to the Adrian Flux French Car Show, which might be some compensation for all those bizarre calls she’s probably getting about transferring no claims bonus.

Flux factor competition

Flux babe blooper

Customer service boss and Flux Babe extraordinaire, Jenny, is probably going to kill me, so if I don’t post for some time, you’ll know why.

This happened at the French Car Show last year (I’m pleased to say we’ll be there again this year) and I came across it when I was sorting through the videos for the flux babes website.

French Car Show

We’ve been following the buzz on the various forums about the Adrian Flux French Car Show, and we’re really pleased so many people had such a great time.

So to help everyone digest other people’s opinions of the day (and a common theme seems to be how much better looking the Flux Babes were than the other promo girls!) we’ve gathered links to many of the threads together in one place. I think we’ve got enough threads to make a sizable rug, actually, but if you know of more, or want to big up your own, please add them using the comments facility.

Here are some of the threads other people are contributing to:

Be warned there are some honest and frank opinions on these sites. Note also that some require free registration.

If you haven’t already, check out our French Car Show 2007 pics.

Videos are coming soon.

French Car Show 2007 Photos

We had an absolutely awesome weekend at the French Car Show, at Rockingham raceway, and it’s taken till now to sort through the hundreds and hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of photos we took.

We’ve started putting some of the better ones onto our Flickr, here.

I was there with a few of the other Flux staff, including the Flux Babes. Loads of the visitors were amazed when they realised that every single one of the Flux Babes works in a regular job for us, and they actually do know about insurance.

We also took some videos with various car owners, club members and other folk we met at the show, and we’ll be putting those online soon. I’ll post it here as soon as they’re ready.

If you were there, we hope you had a great time, and hope to see you next year!
If you weren’t, you missed out big time – get down there next year, or you’ll regret it.

The French Car Show is a great day out for all the family, and this year’s event, sponsored by Adrian Flux is being held at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground on Sunday 28th May. The organisers are expecting at least 10,000 visitors and 2500 club and demo cars are expected to attend.

The show attracts a massive variety of great vehicles, standard, performance, supercar and modified. The cars maybe the stars, but there’s all sorts of other activities, too, including a 2.1 mile circuit, 0-60 sprint track, a Pro-kart circuit , live skills tests and demos, 2 arenas, a rolling road and much more.

There’s also live entertainment, motorsport teams and personalities, over 30 clubs and 60 traders, plus fairground rides and more.

For tickets and information see www.frenchcarshow.co.uk or call the booking hotline on 0845 838 0824. If you book now you can save 20% on the gate price, and whether you have a passion for Peugeots, shout about Citroens, rave about Renaults or if you’re just a regular car fanatic, this is truly an event you can’t afford to miss.
