Final preparations have been made to the Pink Panther ahead of this week’s Classic Road Rally the Tour Britannia.
Sarah Bennett-Baggs will be campaigning her Adrian Flux sponsored pink 1978 911 SC Porsche having made a few modifications to make it road legal.
She will share the driving for a combination of circuit races and speed stages with Butler Motorsport manager and 90s rally star Terry Wilson for the three-day event.
Terry is no stranger to racing a pink car having enjoyed several top five finishes in the Network Q RAC world rally championship in the mid 90s in his pink Astra 16v, and was last seen in the North Wales Winter rally in 2000, which he won outright in a Sierra 4×4.
Terry said: “After 12 years out of the seat, this is going to be very interesting, made more so by being my first time at co-driving! Predictably I am very excited and anticipating a thoroughly enjoyable three days of competition. I’m looking forward to teaming up with Sarah.”
The Tour Britannia will be basing itself from Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate for the three days, and the 20 speed stages take in Cadwell Park, Croft circuit and Harewood Hill Climb.
Sarah said: “I am really looking forward to this event – I know its going to be a lot of fun with Terry and his team, plus I am hoping to pick up some expert rally driving skills along the way.”
