People can often be forgiven for taking little interest in reality TV. Back when it all began, some 10 or 15 years ago, the shows were filled with household names taking the plunge and trying out new things in the name of entertainment. More often than not these days, reality TV is populated by z-list celebs and the sort of people that you have to Google when you hear their name – hardly captivating.
It came as a rare surprise to us at Adrian Flux then when we heard that four-time world superbike champion Carl Fogarty – a man sponsored by our motorbike specialist Bikesure arm (and a genuine celeb for once!) – was heading into ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Bikesure has been working with Foggy, as his fans know him, for a few years now – putting his fame to good use to provide exciting track day events for customers and attending shows and events with him to give bikers a chance to meet one of the all-time greats.
Foggy earned himself a fearsome reputation on the track during his illustrious career. Never one to shy away from a battle on a bike, Carl’s determination to win led him to 108 podiums and 59 wins from 219 starts.
Carl entered the jungle this Sunday, taking his place amongst the likes of ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard, actor Craig Charles and actress Vicki Michelle to face an array of trials and struggles in the weeks ahead.
Despite a brave face and uncompromising attitude on the track, Foggy said on his official website (www.carlfogarty.com) that the jungle would pose a very different challenge to what he’s faced before:
“It’s not often motorbike racers get asked to do this kind of show but, of all the reality TV shows, this was the one I could always see myself agreeing to” he said. “I was ready for a different kind of challenge. It’s going to be out of my comfort zone being with so many strangers, not to mention the bugs and creepy crawlies.”
With Jimmy Bullard already the bookies’ favourite to win the show, Foggy has his work cut out for him in the I’m A Celebrity jungle if he’s to keep his place and avoid the dreaded trials.
All of us here at Adrian Flux will be joining our friends over at Bikesure to cheer Foggy on during his time in the jungle. For more information on Bikesure’s affiliation with Foggy, visit https://www.bikesure.co.uk/carl-fogarty.php
Keep an eye on Bikesure’s Twitter and Facebook pages in the coming days and weeks too for news of a competition to win some signed Foggy goodies.
