The £21 million car park for the supercars of the super-rich

An extravagant mystery Middle Eastern royal has reportedly spent £21 million on an exclusive car park in which to ensconce his eclectic collection of 80 supercars.

Spaces in the underground car park were previously sold for as much as £150,000 each – the price of a brand-new McLaren 570S or Porsche 911 Turbo S.

But now the Gulf billionaire has bought the entire 130-space Kingston House North Car Park which lies beneath a luxury apartment block opposite Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, London.

The purchase was confirmed by Milton Stone and Nicolas Van Patrick, the Knightsbridge estate agencies which jointly brokered the deal.

The car park is handily placed for Harrod’s and boasts extra-wide parking bays, cushioned pillars, a car grooming service, and 24-hour security guards.

It means the Arab’s high-powered fleet will be safely stored in time for London’s supercar season, also dubbed the “Ramadan Rush”, in August.

Each year a host of supercars are shipped over to the UK by their wealthy Arab-owners to be cruised and perused on the streets of Knightsbridge and Chelsea between bouts of retail therapy where they flash the cash in the area’s plethora of luxury shops and restaurants.

You don’t have to own a supercar to want to know it is safely covered.
