The proportion of English 18-year-olds going to university after receiving their 2018 A-level results is at an all-time high of 31.9%.

Records were also set in Wales (28.6%) and Scotland (26.2%). There was however a dip in Northern Ireland which fell to 31.2% after this year’s A-level results were revealed.

Record A-level results will mean more vulnerable freshers

Whether you are going through clearing at UCAS or you already have an offer, the A-level results mean lots more freshers will be heading off for new halls of residence or digs this autumn.

But it’s not all good news. Each year hundreds of freshers find themselves being targeted by thieves on the lookout for newly acquired laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, MP3 players, cameras, TVs and other valuables to steal and sell-on.

You don’t need perfect A-level results to realise these will cost a fortune to replace if you are a victim.

Adrian Flux student contents insurance covers all these items and more, including books, loaned property, and even bikes.
