{"id":18804,"date":"2011-02-21T11:46:46","date_gmt":"2011-02-21T11:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.influx.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=18804"},"modified":"2022-06-27T15:44:01","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T14:44:01","slug":"the-evolution-of-the-drifting-angle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adrianflux.co.uk\/influx\/blog\/the-evolution-of-the-drifting-angle\/","title":{"rendered":"The Evolution of the Drifting Angle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"\" class=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wW4t_0Y84mY?rel=0&#038;showinfo=0&#038;controls=1&#038;enablejsapi=\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The title of the film might sound like that of some strange B&amp;W Open University physics lecture off the telly in the 1970s, but it&#8217;s actually a brilliant film about the history, culture, personalities and fast times of rallying.<\/p>\n<p>And it fact, the title <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.com\/?hl=en&amp;tab=wT#de|en|Die%20Evolution%20Des%20Driftwinkels\">sounds even funnier in German.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Put together by enthusiast <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deimelfilm.com\/\">Helmut Deimel<\/a>, it&#8217;s a passionately conceived piece of history that brings together killer archive action and interviews with almost every big name in rallying over the last few decades.<\/p>\n<p>Documenting everything from the back-happy extremism to 4WD drift and beyond through the irresponsible madness of Group B, the film does for Rallying what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0275309\/\">Dogtown and Z Boys<\/a> did for Skateboarding &#8211; only with a lot more Finnish people.<\/p>\n<p>For some reason the video is available extensively in full length on the WWW for your enjoyment. We wouldn&#8217;t be so rude as to post the whole video, but enjoy the trailer above and hunt down a copy for yourself.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a brilliant way to spend ninety
