Lee Marvin built a career playing hard men.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And it doesn\u2019t get any tougher than Walker – the character he plays in 1967 LA thriller Point Blank.<\/p>\n

There are loads of reasons to love this movie. There’s the existential loneliness of the \u2018emotional, primitive\u2019 man at the centre of the narrative. There\u2019s the brooding sensuality of Angie Dickinson\u2019s character. There are the saturated colours capes and reflections of late sixties Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

But one of the main reasons we love this film is the scene here, where Marvin wrecks a sleazy car dealer\u2019s car in an effort to get information out of him. It\u2019s a prescient echo of the scene in The Driver<\/strong><\/a>, where Ryan O\u2019Neill demonstrates his driving chops in the underground car park.<\/p>\n

Tons of car references, too, as you\u2019d expect from such a fundamentally Los Angeles focussed film.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth a watch for the dealership full of Corvettes alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n
