We’re fans of Niels van Roij Design<\/a> in London. Trusted to chop up Teslas and Ferraris, they’re now turning their tools to a luxury SUV – the Adventum – and it will be solely for true connoisseurs (with a fair number of digits in their current account balance).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The London based car design atelier has been commissioned to design and hand-make the 2-door model, based on the most effortless, British luxury sports utility vehicle (the name of which is apparently withheld by their press release, but you can be the judge).<\/p>\n

Production of the first Adventum, out of a strictly limited series of 100 units, has already begun.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe original, first generation of this British icon was launched in 1970. This car was presented in the Mus\u00e9e du Louvre in Paris exhibited as an exemplary work of industrial design\u201d. According to Niels van Roij, owner of the automotive design studio.<\/p>\n

When the SUV was introduced, it was available only in a 2-door body up until 1981, when a 4-door version was introduced. The flagship model of this opulent four by four is now in its fourth generation, which was never produced as 2-door, up until now.<\/p>\n

The tailor-made Adventum Coupe is a true design statement featuring a distinctive hand-finished bespoke aluminium bodywork, uniquely personal touches to the custom-built interior which will be equipped with the finest upholstery.<\/p>\n

According to Van Roij, every Adventum Coupe commission will boast carefully curated personalized material and colour schemes for both interior and exterior: \u201cAnything is possible, from highly-polished woods, personalised tread plates, extraordinary one-off colour-coded leather hides in chic patterns to sophisticated handcrafted embroidery. Even Tweeds and exotic materials not normally found in the realm of automotive design can be applied by our team of craftspeople.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prices for Adventum Coupe conversion will start between \u00a3275,000-\u00a3375,000 depending on the base vehicle and the design and built will commence after a \u00a350,000 deposit has been made.<\/p>\n

Is there a call for a 2-door version of this iconic motor vehicle? Especially at this price and high spec? Many scoffed at cars like the Range Rover Evoque, but it’s a design language which resonated with a huge group of owners.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, there’s a lot of appeal with limited edition coachbuilt vehicles designed to your specifications. It almost makes us want to start researching the perfect combination of tweed and wood…<\/p>\n

We can certainly see the car doing well – especially when parked beside a standard version of the vehicle…<\/strong><\/p>\n
