The 20-year-old talks ahead of his wild card appearance in Cardiff for the 2018 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix.
It has been a whirlwind season for Robert Lambert and his career has been going from strength-to-strength.
He’s been travelling country-to-country to compete in speedway leagues across Europe, was crowned British champion earlier in the summer and managed to secure the wild card spot at the 2018 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix.
At the British Grand Prix, he will be competing alongside the world’s best speedway riders including Tai Woffinden and Jason Doyle.
It’s a massive achievement for Lambert, who grew up on a farm in rural Norfolk and has been riding bikes since he was just three years old.
Speaking at the Adrian Flux Arena ahead of Saturday’s event, Lambert said: “It’s a great feeling, and to be riding at Cardiff is something really special.
“Obviously, it’s a great experience for me and I’ve been doing well this year – and I’ll try to relate that to the Grand Prix as well.”
He added: “There’s going to be no pressure because I’m not competing in this series.
“It’s [Cardiff’s] going to be a one off meeting for me so I can go there with no pressure, enjoy my speedway, take up the atmosphere, and try and score some good points at the same time.”
