DB Le Mans

Stumbled across this – another car, in a lifetime of spotting cars, that we had never heard of.

The DB Le Mans was apparently a French creation wrought in fibreglass and motored by a twin pot boxer engine by Panhard.

You can see where the makers sought to pitch the idea of a nippy lightweight sportster – reaching out to the sort of dashing market of rare groovers – who might have partaken in an Alfa Duetto or a baby Facel if they had not had a penchent for mini fins and weaved panels.

The Le Mans moniker may have been a trifle audacious considering the twinny motor. But, by all acounts it was a fun ride all the same.

Probably not to be spotted at a kerb near you any time soon.
