If you’ve ever dreamed of learning to be a race driver then dream on and imagine yourself slipping behind the wheel of this drop dead gorgeous Le Mans winning Jaguar C-Type racing machine.

Looks good doesn’t it? The Jaguar C-Type – what a dream, what a ride.

In fact, this is a wonderful recreation of a Jaguar XK120C; one of Jaguar’s most beautiful and all-time great competition Le Mans winning sports cars of the 1950s.

Designed purely to win one race – the Le Mans 24 Hours – the Jaguar C-Type not only won, but set a new lap record in the process.

Jaguar C-Type took 1953 Le Mans by storm

The 1952 Le Mans race proved unsuccessful for Jaguar with all three cars entered failing to finish.

However, in 1953, the Jaguar C-Type recorded 1st, 2nd, 4th and 9th positions and was the first car to clock an average speed of 100 mph at Le Mans.

This Recreation Jaguar C-Type by Nostalgia is a superb example of a much-loved example.

Purchased in 2015 for £54,500, the current owner has spent in excess of £24,000 fine-tuning the car in terms of looks and performance. It has got a little exercise but the odometer still weighs in at less than 20,000 miles.

This super specimen is finished in British Racing Green (what else?) with a matching green interior.

This Jaguar C-type comes with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate.

It is being sold by Historics at Brooklands’ Ascot auction on Saturday, March 3, and pre-sale estimates run from £50,000 to £60,000.
