The 60-year-old details how he got his start in television, Plato replacing him on Driven and discusses whether there will be a new series of The Grand Tour.

James May on whether The Grand Tour will continue

In a wide-ranging interview, May detailed he doesn’t know how long The Grand Tour will continue for, but did reveal they have been filming more episodes this year.

“I’m being perfectly honest with you now”, May said frankly. “We don’t often think more than a year in advance because, let’s face it, we’re old.

“We’ve got another one (episode) about to come out, we’ve just filmed another one a few weeks ago and we’ve got another one planned to film later on this year, so what happens after that? I don’t know. That’s a bit of a grey fog, but it always is.

“Jeremy is ploughing his farm, I’ve been cooking and doing some travel. Hammond’s been taking his own cars apart and fitting them back together.

“It’s not over, but we’re probably nearer the end than the beginning. Oh God, let’s hope so, we don’t want another 20 years of this.”
