Adrian Flux is delighted to announce they will be sponsoring touring car legend Jason Plato in what will be his final season in the British Touring Car Championship. 

The 97-time race winner will be racing with BTC Racing this year alongside fellow team returnees Josh Cook and Jade Edwards, in the terrific Honda Civic Type R, after a successful test at the BTCC’s hybrid installation day at Donnington Park earlier this month, and has nothing but praise for his new team, telling BTC Racing: “I have worked with some world-class people and with world-class teams and I was hugely impressed by BTC Racing after just one outing with them. There are some very clever brains at the team, and everyone knows exactly what they are doing.”

This will be Plato’s final season in BTCC, a series he joined in 1997 and has gone on to win the drivers’ championship in 2001 and 2010 as well as setting the record for most race wins at 97, but this isn’t just a farewell tour for the 54-year-old, he still has the fire in his belly to increase that record as he explains: “I think I can win races and I still think I can win the championship if everything goes the right way. 

“I want to sign off while I am in a good place. I would rather walk away from the series having won a load of races this year, been in the fight for the championship and having been a contender. That would make me happy and be an excellent way to sign off from the championship”

Plato’s partnership with specialist motor insurer Adrian Flux will also continue through 2022 and general manager Gerry Bucke is delighted this is the case: “Our company has a proud history of supporting motorsport and we’re excited that our presence around the BTCC paddock will continue for another year.
