Did you ever dream of taking corners like David Beckham? Well you could if you buy this 2007 Range Rover Sport – because its his old car.
It corners very well and is particularly good on the straight where it accelerates from rest to 60 miles an hour in the bat of an eyelid.
The Range Rover Sport is being sold by Classic Car Auctions at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham (B40 1NT) on Saturday, March 24.
Beckham spent 100k on this Range Rover Sport
The pre-auction estimate is £32,000 to £36,000.
At that price it will be considered something of a steal. Especially when you consider the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and England soccer pin-up, spent more than £100,000 getting it just how he wanted it.
Not content being one of the world’s best-loved footballers, Beckham went on to marry Spice Girl Victoria Adams – Posh Spice – and set about turning himself into a style icon and one of the most instantly recognisable men on the planet.
Range Rover Sport “packed with posh upgrades”
The car was delivered new to Beckham and posh upgrades by Khan Conversions include bespoke interior with quilted leather and upgraded sound and entertainment systems.
It was first registered in his name bearing the private registration ‘DB1001’. An internal plaque proclaims, modestly, “Designed for David Beckham”.
Beckham’s old Range Rover Sport is a “true one-off”
A spokesman from Classic Car Auctions said: “The car has featured in stories across many digital and press media and recently featured in Landy Magazine.”
“This Range Rover Sport is a true one-off.”
The automatic boasts a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine and can race from 0-62mph in a tad over seven seconds and tops at around 140mph.
It is incredibly thirsty though – under 18 miles a gallon – so little surprise the odometer reading shows 65,550 miles which, in Range Rover terms, suggests its barely run in.
