The Ferrari 330 GT Vignale Shooting Brake
We’ve been known to drop a line or two about the beauty inherent in the whole idea of a shooting brake. As a gentleman’s sporty wagon in fact, the whole concept is an elegant, prescient echo of the much maligned SUV.
The fact that most shooting brakes were commissioned as short run specials from coach houses, and included a roster of illuminaries from Aston Martin Lagonda and the like – puts them clearly above and beyond the dad wagon of yore, however.
But we came across this beautiful Ferrari 330 GT this morning, an example we hadn’t seen before, on the Good Old Valves blog this morning. According to Mr Valves, she was put together by the great Vignale in 1968.
Look at the period features, the elegant haughtiness and the steez with which it emanates its presence!
We’d trade in a fleet of RR sports for one of these babies.
