Adrian Flux are proud to announce their latest motorsport sponsorship as they partner with Team BRIT, an all-disabled motorsport team.

Team BRIT is aiming to be the first ever team of disabled drivers to compete in the Le Mans 24 hour.

And the team is inching closer to realising that dream and making motorsport history with the unveiling of its new McLaren 570S GT4 – another significant step on the journey to Le Mans.

Having launched with just one car and two drivers in 2015, in 2022 Team BRIT will enter four cars across three championships providing opportunities for eight disabled racing drivers, including in the prestigious British GT Championship. The new car was unveiled to sponsors and supporters at an exclusive event held in London on Wednesday 27th October 2021.

The McLaren has been fitted with the team’s world leading racing hand controls to enable paraplegic driver Aaron Morgan to compete on equal terms with able-bodied competitors. Morgan will team up with the world’s fastest autistic racing driver, 22-year-old Bobby Trundley.

Trundley and Morgan have already held their own this year in the Britcar Endurance Championship with multiple podiums and an overall championship finish of 3rd in class after an incredible performance at Donington Park last weekend.

The addition of the McLaren extends the team’s ladder of opportunity for disabled drivers, which starts with its Racing Academy, offering the chance for disabled drivers to experience the thrill of the race track at track sessions.

Gerry Bucke, Adrian Flux General Manager said: “We’re massive fans of motorsport and are delighted to be supporting Team BRIT on their historic quest to be the first ever all-disabled team to compete in the Le Mans 24 hour.

“Some of the world’s best drivers compete in Le Mans 24hr and with the addition of the new McLaren and a move to British GT, we believe Team BRIT has every chance of progressing to this top level of world-class racing.

“Adrian Flux were formed when our founder couldn’t get disabled insurance for his kit car in 1973 and this sponsorship takes us back to our roots and shows our commitment, not only to motorsport, but to disabled drivers.”

Dave Player, Team BRIT Founder, adds: “We are incredibly grateful for the support and belief of Adrian Flux, which will make such an impact as we move towards our Le Mans goal.

“Reaching Le Mans is something we will achieve, and we will do this in partnership with the army of supporters who are behind us and who share our brave and ambitious goals of changing motorsport for disabled drivers.

“We’re achieving more and more every year, and unveiling our brand new McLaren today, bearing the Adrian Flux branding, has been a pivotal moment for us. We have now grown our ladder of motorsport opportunity for disabled drivers even further and look forward to welcoming even more people into our incredible sport.”

Over 45 years’ experience insuring disabled drivers

With over 45 years’ experience providing specialist and classic car and home insurance, Adrian Flux is the perfect partner to join Team BRIT on the road to historic racing greatness.

Adrian Flux was a disabled driver himself. He founded the company that bears his name in 1973 after struggling to get insurance for his beloved kit car, and looking after the needs of disabled motorists has been a priority ever since.

About Team BRIT

Team BRIT are a competitive racing team, not a charity, and race against teams of able-bodied drivers on a totally level playing field — something that no other sport can offer.

They aim to make racing history and take a team to the world famous Le Mans 24hr endurance race, becoming the first ever British all-disabled team to do so.

Many of their drivers have taken part in karting events through their linked charity, KartForce. Team BRIT provides the opportunity for them to step up to competitive endurance racing.
