Not sure how we missed this release a few months ago – but we’re not exactly in the market, I suppose.

Despite its looks this isn’t a concept car but a road legal production model; although with a top speed of 355kph you may struggle to stay on the right side of the law, even in the Arabian desert.

If you’re happy to drive something that Batman might look more at home in and have the same financial resources as Bruce Wayne then this beast is for you.

With only nine being built this year the special edition Roadster is emblematic of the increasing polarity in the modern car market and it is instructive that it was unveiled in Abu Dhabi.

It’s clear that this kind of machine is aimed squarely at oil-saturated billionaires and you’d want to be an oil baron to run its 6.5 litre v12 engine.

While back down here on planet normal many of us are pumping our calculators to see whether the government’s plug in car grant can deliver us an efficient and affordable way of getting around.
