McLaren Supercars

From a state-of-the-art factory in Surrey, England, McLaren has produced some of the most technologically astounding supercars we’ve ever seen.

Starting out in 1992 with the record-breaking F1 and continuing through to the mechanical perfection that is the P1, McLaren’s supercars stand apart from the crowd as shining examples of modern British engineering.

Taking lessons learned from decades of Formula 1 racing and applying them to designs drawn up by some of the best in the business, McLaren has carved out a niche for itself producing technically unmatchable cars.

From race-inspired DRS and Brake Steer systems, to dual-motor cars that push nearly 1,000 BHP, McLaren’s cars have always pushed the boundaries and made the most of the technology available to them – and their following, and their price tag, reflects that.

Other marques can focus on lap times and raw performance – McLaren’s mission has always been simple: build the ultimate high-performance road car.

Released to the public just three years after its younger sibling the 12C, the 650S represents a refined version of McLaren’s vision of the ultimate road-going supercar.
Producing a successor to the triumphal F1 was never going to be an easy task for the engineers at McLaren. But tasked with building the first purely McLaren-built production car in over a decade, they revealed the 12C in 2009 to critical acclaim, and it remains a popular choice for budding supercar owners.
In 2013, McLaren’s search for the ultimate high-performance road car continued. And building on the solid foundation laid by the F1 in the late 90s, and backed up with lessons learned from the 12C, the McLaren P1 left their state-of-the-art Surrey production lab in 2014.
It’s almost impossible to look past the McLaren F1 when talking about the greatest ever supercars - produced throughout the 1990s, it’s still today one of the fastest, most expensive and most technically astounding production cars ever made.
