What is a CCJ?

A county court judgment, or CCJ, is filed against you if you have not responded to someone’s summons to court because of a debt you owe. Receiving a CCJ means the court has formally decided that you owe this debt. The judgment will tell you who to pay, how to pay it, how much you owe, and when your deadline is.

Unless you pay the full amount within a month of receiving the CCJ, judgment records are kept on file for six years. This will impact your ability to get a range of different services, from home insurance to car insurance.

Can you get car insurance with a CCJ?

You can get CCJ car insurance, but you’ll probably struggle to get CCJ insurance from a mainstream insurer. Choosing a specialist insurance broker like Adrian Flux is usually the best option. This is because we can provide affordable car insurance even if you have bad debt, bankruptcies, or a CCJ.

Why choose Adrian Flux?

With over 45 years in the industry, we are the UK’s leading insurance broker. We work with over 30 insurers – both niche and mainstream – to secure you affordable insurance whatever your circumstances.

Call us to speak with our knowledgeable staff. We compare quotes for you in around 15 minutes. Our policies can be tailored to your needs too, whether you drive a modified car and need like-for-like cover, or you need European cover.

How can I get affordable car insurance with a CCJ?

At Adrian Flux, we offer a range of discounts in a number of situations. If any of these apply to you, let us know and this could reduce your insurance premiums.

  • Laid-up policies: if you only drive your vehicle at certain times of the year, let us know.
