Expired NCB Insurance
Even if your no claims bonus (NCB) is over two years old, we can usually accept your expired NCB and take this into account when you take out a policy with us.
What is no claims bonus?
No claims bonus is a discount that applies to your car insurance. It’s calculated by the number of consecutive years you’ve been driving where a claim hasn’t been made on your insurance.
When does NCB expire?
Your NCB usually expires after two years. With most providers, after two years, you lose any no claims bonus you’ve built up and will have to start again from scratch.
Can expired NCB be accepted?
We’re one of very few insurance companies that can accept your expired no claims bonus. We know that there are plenty of reasons why your NCB might have expired and these reasons don’t make you a more dangerous driver. That’s why we can often take NCB that’s over two years old into consideration when you get a quote.
We also accept overseas and international no claims bonuses, as well as any discounts you’ve built up on a company car.

- Taking a break from driving
- Living abroad for an extended period
- Driving company cars instead
- Being a named driver on a partner’s policy
