The majority of car insurance providers do not cover track events, so it is important that you have specialist track day insurance for when you and your car are heating up the tarmac. Our track day insurance policy is an excellent way of getting the coverage you need while still having fun!
Do I need track day insurance?
You’ll need track day insurance when travelling to and from the track if the vehicle isn’t already covered by another motor insurance policy. Even though it’s not a requirement to have cover while you are on the track, you’ll also be surrounded by other drivers on the track at varying levels of experience, so it’s recommended that you get coverage.
After all, while track day insurance can be relatively cheap, the cost of replacing your car is usually a lot more expensive.

How much is track day insurance?
The cost of your track day car insurance will depend on a number of factors, from your chosen track to the type of car you use. If you’re renewing your annual policy and are planning on using your car on the track, let us know how many track days you plan on doing over the year and we can add them to your policy.
There are some ways to lower the price of your premiums. Let us know if any of the following apply to you.
- Previous track day experience: if you’ve already got experience on the track, you’re a lower risk of getting into an accident.
- Already an existing customer? If you’ve already taken out a car insurance policy with us, we can increase the maximum vehicle value on your policy.
- Willing to pay a higher excess? We offer a discount of up to 10% depending on the agreed voluntary excess amount.
